Safety is the number one criteria for manufacturers when it comes to new vehicle design. New regulations are being introduced every year to improve not only the safety of passengers in the vehicle but also any pedestrians that may be involved in a collision.

Head Impact Protection

High density polypropylene pads secured beneath the roof lining offers head impact protection.

Front Impact Protection

Front impact protection refers to any item in a vehicle that protects passengers from injury due to frontal collisions. Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) is excellent at absorbing energy caused by impact. We currently mould:

  • EPP bumper cores
  • EPP low density foot-well in-fill pieces located under the carpet to support the heel
  • EPP foot-well parts act as footrests
  • EPP pads for fixing to the steering cowl assembly for knee impact protection
  • Expanded heat resistant co-polymer foam pad fixed to the passenger air bag door protects during deployment

Side Impact Protection

Side Impact Protection Systems (SIPS) is a system of protecting passengers against collisions from the side.

Expanded foam components are located within the door frames and arm rest areas to counter-balance the side impact forces.

Expanded high density modified polystyrene foam is sandwiched between the metal and plastic central reservation of the seat belt mechanism to provide hip protection.
