SCA has approved a significant investment of £350k this year to provide upgraded plant facilities, security and operational improvements to their SCA Foam Products manufacturing plant located in Spennymoor, Co. Durham commencing early 2010. Spennymoor plant will also be the first of their six plants to benefit from a £500k investment in their new computer business system implementation.

The Regional Development Agency (One North East) has also awarded SCA Foam Products a business grant to contribute to capital investments at the plant over the next 4 years.

Furthermore, they have been able to secure new lease terms with the landlord which will help them to make the necessary infrastructure improvements at the plant.

This investment demonstrates SCA’s commitment to automotive customers and the UK automotive industry.

This announcement is a result of the significant improvement of the financial performance in the plant and the business as a whole in the 2 nd half of 2009. The Spennymoor team has earned and deserves this investment for their consistent high level of performance in safety, customer service, quality and productivity.
