- The SupraSkin process produces a fully fused end product, unlike conventional skinning processes
- SupraSkin can be moulded on conventional moulding equipment
- Skin thickness can be varied
- SupraSkin will provide increased strength, penetration and liquid resistance
- Partial or complete coverings are possible
- SupraSkin is relatively low cost for the number of benefits available
- Recyclable
The skinning of a foam body is normally taken on for aesthetic or technical reasons. To this date it has not proven possible to satisfactorily provide such a surface layer on a foam body during its formation in a mould. This is because the expanding / fusing medium is normally introduced to the mould from all sides to ensure even treatment of the beads in the mould.
The base material is partially fused in the tool acquiring its required shape. The tool is then opened. Next the skin material is laid over the required surfaces. Then finally the tool is closed and the fusion process completed to leave a very strong and detailed surface. |
